Sponsors Sought For Fourth Annual Charity 5K Run

harbor hills 5k sponsorship opportunitiesCalling all sponsors of the Harbor Hills 5K race! Our fourth annual ‘5K In The Hills’ will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2018. The net proceeds will be donated to the Harbor Hills Ladies Charity, well-known for their hard work in helping local efforts for the needy. All money raised by these amazing women goes directly to organizations within our community.

The 5K Run raised over $7,500 last year. One hundred and twelve local participants and more than twenty generous sponsors made last year’s benefit a resounding success. Sandy Crabtree, President of the Harbor Hills Ladies Charity, explains that members will both work at and participate in the event. “We hope neighbors from all around the area will join us for this fun-filled day.”

Sponsors enjoy exposure in numerous media outlets and throughout the Harbor Hills Community. Three sponsorship levels are offered. They are: Gold level ($750 donation), Silver level ($500 donation) and Bronze level ($350 donation). Each tier receives varying degrees of promotion and web coverage.

Sponsor tents will provide an opportunity to offer samples and information to the Harbor Hills community and all runners and observers. Sponsors will also be recognized at the after-run celebration which includes awards, raffle drawings, music by DJ Opie and more. Companies and individuals interested in sponsorship can contact Adam Rich at 352-223-5652 or register at

And for those ages 62 and older, join us at the Harbor Hills Country Club this Wednesday at 10AM to learn about a Home Equity Conversion. Chris Bruser, Home Equity Retirement Specialist, is offering a free seminar along with a full breakfast buffet. The HECM program is a way to purchase a home without depleting a large portion of your savings. A few seats remain. Call 352-753-7000 to register.

Before you say, ‘I can’t run a 5K,’ stop and think about this. You can walk, run, stroll or skip the 3.1 mile route split between the peaceful streets and plush fairways. That sounds much more doable, doesn’t it?

Ten age divisions from eleven years and under to sixty years and over! Awards will be given to the top three in each age group and overall male and female.

If you have never visited Harbor Hills before, this is a perfect opportunity. We are situated at the highest level in north-central Florida and overlook Lake Griffin, a 9,200-acre lake.

Sign up early and be part of this spectacular event, which includes a race T-shirt, prizes and an after-fun celebration party. The weather will be gorgeous and the landscape of Harbor Hills will make your run/walk majestic!

Register at or call 362-753-7000.

Sandy Crabtree, President, Harbor Hills Ladies Charity, has called on members to provide help with greeters, course guides and working at the water stations. “We are very excited to be involved in this new adventure.,” Sandy explained,’ We need as many volunteers as we can gather to help with this event.”

Garden and Women’s Club 2017-2018

Garden and Women’s Club 2017-2018

Wonder what the Harbor Hills Garden and Women’s Club is planning for an outstanding 2017-2018 season? Club President Judy Monin guarantees members will be delighted by the variety of entertaining programs presented each month.

October’s inaugural event is entitled Native Florida Gardening. First-time gardeners and new residents face challenges with many aspects of Florida gardening. Master Gardeners from the Lake County Extension Office will answer all your questions.

Hailed as ‘the best experience to be had in the area,’ join us in November for an eco-nature tour of the extraordinary St. John’s River. Tour captains from Blue Heron River Tours are well-informed and provide wildlife viewing and photo ops. The river’s history is unique and interesting. You won’t want to miss this one!

To celebrate the festive month of December, Jody Nelson, owner of “The Spice and Tea Exchange” presents a Holiday Tea and Spices program. We’re excited to learn about the variety of spices and teas as well as fine sugars, holiday teapots and more.

Greet January, 2018 with a program of historic interest, thanks to Villages resident and historian Carolyn Kleinsmith. Her interesting facts about former First Ladies will surprise you! Patchington hosts our annual fashion show in February, with popular styles and beautiful models from where else?  The Harbor Hills community! Our March program takes us to Lake Wales and a tour of the historic gardens and extraordinary singing spire of Bok Tower.

Just in time for Spring, 2018, April’s home design program features decorating hints and clever design tricks from local shop owners. Our May program will conclude the spectacular season with a Kentucky Derby party. Outrageous hats are encouraged!

Judy explains that this season there is ‘something for everyone.’ Membership is open to all Harbor Hills Country Club members. Contact Judy at for information.
