FESTA ITALIANA NIGHT BY NIKKI HOFFMAN

Italian Club

Italians are known for celebrating life with joy and enthusiasm. The many festivals popular throughout the country attest to their pride and delight in living a beautiful life. Festivals range from large-scale parades featuring elaborate costumes to tasting the delectable street food along the way. Whether it’s Carnevale in Venice or the beautiful flowers of the Infiorate Festival in Noto, Italy’s festivals reflect the culture of this heritage-rich country.

Lucky for Harbor Hills members, it’s not necessary to plan a vacation to Italy to enjoy delicious food and fun! On Friday, November 10, the Italian American Club of Harbor Hills will recreate the spirit of this unique country with a Festa Italiana street fair theme. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. in the lounge for drinks and games. Dinner and dancing to follow. Keyboard crooner Mark Raisch will entertain us.

The dinner menu includes multiple choices of Italian dishes from different regions of Italy. The iconic Italian dessert of limoncello cake will be served. Limoncello lemon liqueur is mainly produced around the Amalfi Coast, where giant lemons grow on the cliff sides. An Affogato coffee bar completes the evening.

Created in 2009, the Italian American Club of Harbor Hills welcomes all country club members of Italian heritage. Club President Joe Pulsone promotes homemade culinary delights at monthly meetings and local excursions. Yearly dues are $10 per person.
