At Harbor Hills, golf and tennis are best played, not watched! The Harbor Hills Couples Club Championship and the Ladies Golf Association Member-Member Tournament were recently played on our picturesque golf course. An exciting rivalry was rekindled on our tennis courts as well.

The 2022 Couples Club Championship is a two-person best ball format with gross and net fields flighted by team handicap. Congrats to the winning couples! First place in the gross division were defending champions Dave and Janis DeCoster. It was a tie for first place in the green division between Gary and Christine Sorenson and Mike and Janet White. In the fun division, Ted Sartin and Leslie Nisun captured first place.

The Harbor Hills Ladies Golf Association Member-Member Tournament is a longstanding tradition and always exciting. The first place winners in each of the five flights were Flight 1 – Wanda Kurka and Deb Markey; Flight 2 – Nancy Flood and Judy Warren; Flight 3 – Sue Rice and Denise Collier; Flight 4 – Nancy Skoch and Karen Coburn and Flight 5 – Leslie Nisun and Billie Neese. The St. Patrick’s Day Tournament will be played on Thursday.

Speaking of healthy competition, “Home-on-Home” tennis matches are played between Harbor Hills and Glenview Country Club. Described as a “friendly rivalry,” both clubs field six teams of doubles players, including ladies’, men’s and mixed teams. Glenview prevailed in the challenging first match at Harbor Hills. This Saturday’s match will be held at Glenview. Many thanks to Giac Modica, Ted Drzewiecki and our sponsor, the Harbor Hills Racquet Association. Players from both clubs showed their camaraderie for old rivals who have fast become new friends.
