The PGA Tour’s International Tour has partnered with LOCALiQ, the official digital marketing services firm of the PGA Tour, to create the LOCALiQ Series. These tournaments are designed for international PGA members from Latin America, Canada and China unable to play on their respective tours due to the impact of the coronavirus.
Harbor Hills Country Club has been selected to host the 6th of 8 series events September 30-October 2. The purse at each tournament is $100,000 with the winner’s share of $16,000. The excitement starts with a Pro-Am at Harbor Hills on September 28. It’s a 4-person scramble with 1 PGA player and 3 amateurs. To join the fun, contact the Pro Shop at 352-753-7711.
The last of the series will be held at the Ocean Club on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas on October 27. The champion of the final tournament and the top two players on the series points list will each receive a sponsor exemption into a 2021 PGA Tour tournament.
Junior players are the future of the game and Harbor Hills was delighted to welcome the Highlander Junior Golf Tour back for another rousing day. A strong turnout of talented youngsters competed in four flights. Keith McColl and Mark Panigoni formed the tour to develop local players and provide opportunities for growth in the game and in life. Matches are affordable and close to home.
Harbor Hills residents who are competitive Highlander tour players include Collin Rich, Deya Shaktawat, James Calabrese and Michael Woodley. Brady Lawler, son of friend and colleague Holly Lawler, has made many friends through golf and loves playing with the Highlander Tour. Sponsorship keeps opportunities available for our juniors.
