HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL SCHOOL GOLF CHARITY EVENT BY NIKKI HOFFMAN

There are more than 1,700 properties listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places in the state of Florida. One of those listings includes the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Fruitland Park. This historic church was built in 1888 in the construction style known as “carpenter” or “Florida” Gothic.  Well-constructed and sturdy, the church remains in service to this day.To better assist local students with learning challenges, the church established a faith-based education program for grades 6 through 12 in 1997.  The specialized curricula and small class sizes focus on individualized learning for children with autism, dyslexia, attention deficient disorder and other learning disabilities. These children have not been well served in our mainstream public schools. Sociability, spirituality and independence are fostered in a supportive, caring environment at the Holy Trinity Episcopal School.Harbor Hills residents Gregg and Judy Monin explain that Holy Trinity is the only school of its’ kind in the area. “The dedication of the volunteers is amazing,” Judy said. “So many talented people lend their talents to support the school, as tutors, committee members and fundraisers. We are grateful to be part of a community that cares so much about these children.”Families are often unable to pay full tuition for the school to break even financially. The school relies heavily on parishioner and community support.  Gregg and Judy Monin are co-chairpersons for the Holy Trinity Episcopal School Golf Charity Event at beautiful Harbor Hills Country Club on Saturday, October 29^th. It is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Prizes include a free golf cart, a Callaway 300 range finder and $10,000 for a hole in one winner! There will also be various contests and baskets to bid on.The cost of the outing is $90 per individual golfer, $360 for a foursome. Hole sponsor is $300. Lunch only is $20.00.
