LABOR DAY AND THE FREEDOM WALK BY NIKKI HOFFMAN

Labor Day Golf Scramble

Labor Day is the first Monday in September. This special day honors the American labor movement and pays tribute to the working men and women who help our economy prosper. It originated in 1882 as a “Workingman’s Holiday” honoring our country's industrial foundation.

Harbor Hills Country Club members and guests are celebrating Labor Day in style. Red, white, and blue-decorated carts will make their way down the picturesque fairways in a four-person scramble. A traditional Labor Day cookout follows. Golf and lunch are $35 for members and $75 for guests. Lunch-only is $30 per person.

Calling all racquet sports enthusiasts! The competitive spirit is alive and well on our first-class courts. Sign up for this year’s tennis club championship. Round-robin play starts on October 1st. The three divisions are Ladies Doubles, Gentlemen’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. All levels of play are welcome. Watch this column for more details later this month.

Harbor Hills Country Club is the proud host of the first annual A21 Walk for Freedom Charity Golf Tournament.  A21 is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating human trafficking at a local, domestic, and international level. In 2008, Christine Caine founded The A21 Campaign. The name comes from the organization's goal to Abolish injustice in the 21st century. It is now one of the largest organizations in the world that is focused solely on fighting human trafficking.

Join us and A21 presenter Lifestyle Coast 2 Coast on September 28th for golf, lunch, raffle prizes, and more. All proceeds go towards ending exploitation here and abroad. For more information, link to www.lifestylecoast2coast.com.
