MISS LAKE COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT
Service. Scholarship. Determination. What connects these attributes? Jackie Croft can tell you. She is the director of the Miss Lake County Florida pageant, a nonprofit pageant that strongly emphasizes community service. This focus helps develop the skills needed to become tomorrow’s leaders. “The most important benefit of the competition lies in community service, raising awareness, and inspiring others,” Jackie said. She is an essential guide, mentoring the girls on their life journey.
Kylie Bryan, the reigning Miss Lake County Florida, won the pageant’s $3,000 college scholarship. She graduated from Leesburg High School as student body president, varsity cheer captain, and a member of the National Honor Society. Kylie will attend the University of Florida in Gainesville in the fall. She plans to major in business.
Kylie and her court represent Lake County at charity events and community programs. The girls participate in food drives and teacher appreciation days. Every effort is made to reach one hundred hours of community service, earn the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and carry on the pageant’s legacy of selflessness and service.
On Saturday, August 3, Harbor Hills will host the Miss Lake County Scholarship Golf Tournament. All proceeds go toward college scholarships. Registration opens at 7 a.m., and the shotgun starts at 8 a.m. The cost of $100 per golfer includes the tournament and lunch. Awards, prizes, chance drawings, and a 50-50 drawing are included.
