GOLF ASSOCIATIONS AT HARBOR HILLS BY NIKKI HOFFMAN

It’s Fall, y’all and thanks to the efforts of our entire golf course staff, the conditions on our course are superb. Harbor Hills Men’s Golf Association Tournament Chairman Dale Smith reminds us that our biggest event of the year, the Sider Cup, begins on October 13th.It’s a ten day event of men’s and women’s golf, social events, skill challenges, golf cart parades and of course, lots of food and beverages. Sign-up deadline is October 3. From the Captains Dinner to the Awards Dinner, the Sider Cup and our  men’s distinctive vintage attire have become a lively tradition at Harbor Hills.The Harbor Hills Ladies Golf Association opened their 30^th season on September 16^th followed by a luncheon and meeting. The Association has 54 active members. President Wanda Kurka and Vice President Ann Mahoney encourage all lady golfers who are club members to join this 18 hole group. The 9 hole group is led by Carol Bowers. For those of us who love the game for fresh air, exercise and social opportunities, these groups are ideal.The Harbor Hills Labor Day golf tournament and All-American barbeque was a huge success. Winners of the three flight, four person scramble were as follows: Full member flight - Bill and Lynda Collier, Larry and Nancy Skoch with a score of 58, Fun flight - Don and Barbara Goolsby, Jan Wilson and Les Johnson with a score of 57, Social member/Guest flight - Steve Hinga, Don Maloney, Thomas McKernan and Terry Crabtree with a score of 56. The public is welcome to play a round of golf or stop by the Harbor Hills clubhouse. We are open every day including holidays.
