The Third Annual Harbor Hills Club Tennis Championship by Nikki Hoffman

The competitive spirit is alive and well on the courts of Harbor Hills Country Club! The Third Annual Harbor Hills Club Tennis Championship is sponsored by the Harbor Hills Racquet Association. Participation is open to all Harbor Hills Country Club members.Round robin matches start on November 1 and are played in each of three divisions; Ladies, Men’s and Mixed. The matches are completed over the five-month period between November and March. In April, the top four teams will play an exciting sudden-death semifinal. Winners will then play for the club championship. The event concludes with a reception to crown the champions and award the trophies. Defending champions are Denise Collier and Janis DeCoster in the Ladies Division; Pepe Gutierrez and Gary Davison in the Men’s Division and Joanne Drzewiecki and Steve Stephens in the Mixed Division.Now is the time for members to pick partners and get their teams set. Signup sheets are on the bulletin board at the Racquet Sports Shop or you can email the Championships Coordinator Ted Drzewiecki at ted.drzewiecki@gmail.com.Our club is one of the few facilities offering tennis, short-court tennis and pickleball on an original Har-Tru (soft) surface. Our courts are ranked among the finest soft court facilities in Florida and beyond. Members of the Harbor Hills Racquet Association include country club members and non-residents who hold social, golf, seasonal tennis or pickleball memberships. Annual dues are $10 per person and are used for courtside amenities, facility improvements and other expenses.
