Harbor Hills Junior Golf Camp By Nikki Hoffman
Harbor Hills Junior Golf Camp
Junior golf programs have been an essential avenue for young golfers who love the game. Familiar names such as Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Nelly Korda, and Rose Zhang all progressed through the ranks of junior golf. Harbor Hills Director of Golf Tom Leimberger encourages early exposure to the sport. “Start at a young age,” he said, “to get the fundamentals right.”
Reagan Smith is doing just that. This Harbor Hills youngster, son of Deron and Vicky Smith, won the 12U flight at the Claret Junior Golf tournament at Southern Oaks in May. He scored an impressive 67 and 74 in the two-day event.
Reagan’s consistently solid play has led to another exciting milestone. He is one of eighty youngsters chosen to compete in the 75th Future Masters Golf Tournament in Dothan, Alabama, on June 22. It is one of the most prestigious junior events in the country and will undoubtedly be the proving ground for future PGA Champions. Good luck, Reagan! The Harbor Hills Community is rooting for you!
Leimberger has designed a comprehensive golf curriculum for this summer’s Junior Golf Camp for youth ages 7 to 17. Parents and grandparents can choose from three summer sessions: June 17-June 19, July 15 - July 17, and August 5-August 7. Instruction covers full swing and video analysis, short game techniques, and putting fundamentals. Drills and games are part of the fun! The cost is $225 per session.
Tom is extending a special invitation to Villagers, their children, and grandchildren to come out and play. For registration information, contact Tom at 352-753-7711 or email tleimberger@harborhills.com.
