HARBOR HILLS LADIES CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT BY NIKKI HOFFMAN
The Harbor Hills Ladies Charity has a long history of helping local causes in a big way. In 1993, a group of Harbor Hills women sponsored a golf tournament to raise funds for local charities. Since then, the desire to make a difference has grown over the years.A special event takes place on December 4th when the Harbor Hills Ladies Charity holds its Holiday Golf Tournament and dinner. Commemorating the 30th year of this event, Chairperson Eileen Gordon encourages golf members, social members and non-members to participate. You do not have to be a club member to play golf or to attend dinner.Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. The shotgun scramble starts at 12:45 p.m. The event includes themed raffle baskets, specially curated auction items, and a 50-50 drawing. Forms for the tournament, dinner, donations and sponsorship are available outside the Harbor Hills Pro Shop.Last year’s golf event netted over $27,000 which benefitted the Christian Food Pantry, Lake Hills School, Fruitland Park Elementary School, Community Medical Care Center, The Villages Elementary School, The Haven and Forward Paths. The Harbor Hills Ladies Charity is a 501(C)(3) charity. Congratulations to First Place Winner Dr. Gregg Kasinger! The coveted parking space and well-earned bragging rights are now yours. Tied for second place are Dr. Jay Shaktawat and Ravi Velappan.Running concurrently with the Club Championship, senior golf club members competed for the title of Senior Tees Club Champion. Congrats to Harlan Chapin! Second place was captured by Frank Altman. Great job and fun all around.
