The Harbor Hills Ladies Charity By Nikki Hoffman

Ladies CharityThe Harbor Hills Ladies Charity has a long history of helping local causes in a big way. In 1993, a group of Harbor Hills women sponsored a golf tournament to raise funds for local charities. Since then, the desire to make a difference has grown over the years. The charity has no overhead. President Nancy Flood explains that all money raised by the nonprofit Harbor Hills Ladies Charity goes directly to organizations in our community. The Christian Food Pantry of Lady Lake, the Haven of Lake and Sumter Counties, Fruitland Park Elementary School, Villages Elementary of Lady Lake and Lake Hills School are only a few of the local organizations receiving proceeds.Harbor Hills residents are invited to the charity’s Ladies Brunch on October 25th. Upcoming events and volunteer opportunities will be announced. Belks coupons for $5.00 will be sold at the luncheon. The coupon can be used on specific dates and $5.00 is returned to the Harbor Hills Ladies charity. A collection of Jim Shore ornaments and figurines has been donated and will be sold at the brunch. Proceeds will be split between the Ladies Charity and the Garden and Women’s Club Veterans Memorial Project. The December 5th Annual Holiday Golf Tournament is the Charity’s premier fundraising event. Members are busy soliciting hole sponsors and donors. Food Drives will be held January 28-30 and April 22-24. Join us in the March-April timeframe for our Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner event, or for those who prefer, Dinner With Friends fundraiser. The Unique Boutique Clothing Sale is scheduled for March 21-25 at the Lady Lake United Methodist Church. Community members who wish to participate, volunteer or donate are appreciated.
