HARBOR HILLS RACQUET SPORTS BY NIKKI HOFFMAN

Calling all racquet sports enthusiasts! The competitive spirit is alive and well on the courts of Harbor Hills Country Club. As the premiere tennis facility in the area, USTA league play, tournaments and charity events often take place on our courts. We offer short court tennis and pickleball on a Har-Tru surface. This high-performance clay material provides a comfortable playing experience, especially on the knees.You are invited to our Tennis Doubles Walkup! Ladies play Tuesdays at 9AM. Men play Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8AM. Organized play for 3.5 and 4.0 players is on Mondays, Wednesdays (Ladies only) and Fridays.The Fourth Annual Tennis Doubles Championship, sponsored by the Harbor Hills Racquet Association, is now in progress. Round robin matches are played in three divisions: Ladies Doubles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. The matches are completed between October and March. In April, the top four teams play an exciting sudden death semifinal. Winners then play for the championship in front of fans cheering from our stadium seating. The trophy cup is presented after each final match. Winners’ names are engraved on a plaque placed in the trophy case at the club.In Men’s Doubles, Hank Chipman and Gene Armbrister are 6-0. Their semifinal match opponents have yet to be determined. In Mixed Doubles, Hank Chipman is playing with partner KP Palmer. They are undefeated at 5-0 with one match to play. Jo Janke and Judy Parker have been declared Ladies Doubles champs! Playoffs and finals take place in April.Tennis members do not have to reside in Harbor Hills.
