HARBOR HILLS WELCOMES THE NEW YEAR IN STYLE BY NIKKI HOFFMAN
Harbor Hills Country Club is celebrating tonight. Come along with me as we go “Back To The Future!” A gourmet plated dinner, champagne toast, party favors, and much more are included. Rocking the house this year is the amazing ‘tribute to the 80’s dance band Super Freak.
Congratulations to the winners of the Harbor Hills Ladies Charity Holiday Golf Tournament! First place - Bo Wroten, Isaiah Daniel, Jeff Bugg, Michael J. Johnson. Second place - Ravi Velappan, Ray Barr, Joe Redoutey, Pat Murdock. Third place - Judd Dickerson, Dave McLaughlin, Perry Ressler, Doug Ressler. This premier event benefits our local charities.
Let’s remember that the holiday season can be a tough time for many who are experiencing sadness, loneliness, or missing a family member or a pet. Especially vulnerable are those with disabilities, illnesses, or few family contacts. It’s an especially hard time for veterans. Of our country’s 16.5 million living veterans, 8.1 million, nearly 50%, are 65 years or older. The price of freedom comes at our country’s highest cost: both the lives of those we lost and those who returned to struggle with the effects that remain.
Friend and veteran Lonnie Hodge, a post-traumatic stress disorder survivor, suggests we reach out to anyone who may be at risk. Be there for those who need to talk or need help finding assistance. They are neighbors, friends, and family members. And may the true meaning of the season fill your heart. Wishing my readers the happiest of holidays and a joyful, healthy 2024!
